New and Improved Elle Jay at Home

Sharing is caring!

Welcome to the new and improved Elle Jay at Home! If you’ve been following me for a while, you’ll notice that suddenly, I’m changing everything. Maybe you’re curious, maybe you didn’t even notice, but here you are! So, let’s talk about it.

What’s Going On?

I’ve been working for the same cool company for seven years. Fresh out of college, I joined up as a Quality Control Manager at 360 Solutions. Long story short, it was seven years of learning everything I could and trying out several different roles in the company. I recently asked about room to grow and they didn’t have that for me. We came to a mutual parting of the ways. In other words, I’ve been gently laid off to find a growth opportunity.

What that has to do with the wild and crazy blog changes is this: I was done waiting. My dream has been to turn Elle Jay at Home into a real job for a while. While this whole year has been so busy I haven’t even had time to update the “old” blog, I have never considered it dead. It’s been “under construction”. My husband and I have been talking about it, and it seemed like losing my job could be the sign I’ve been waiting for to really dive in head first.

Why the New Format?

While I could have tried to make Weebly work, I felt that it was time to start from scratch. I’m going to be going back through my recipes and updating the photography. You may see familiar recipes with some minor tweaks and new stories to go with them. My main hope is that Elle Jay at Home will grow up.

For the sake of transparency, yes, I am attempting to make money from blogging now. That means you’ll have an opportunity to sign up to be on an email list so new blogs will be sent right to you. It also means there may (hopefully) be some sponsored posts in the future, and clickable links to helpful products.

Any Other Changes in the New and Improved Elle Jay at Home?

Thanks for asking! In fact, my husband wants to contribute to home improvement and gardening blogs. We’ll be branching out from just recipes to using food scraps for compost, meal planning for a budget, and keeping up your own family garden. He may even be tackling refacing our fireplace and building a new coffee bar in the kitchen.

Of course, I’ll continue to post my favorite recipes. I’ve already got my very best banana bread recipe live, as well as the ever-popular Greek Quinoa Salad recipe. There’s even a new recipe for some incredible chocolate chip cookies coming soon!

I’m hoping you’ll stick with me and share my stories with your friends. And I’m really hoping we don’t go broke while I chase my crazy dreams of being a garden composting, food writing, coffee drinking blogger.
